Hi, I know you don't know me, I follow your blog some from one of my friends. Anyways, I keep up with it because my son has a problem of just not eating as well. We've had every test done in the book and seen specialist after specialist and everything comes back normal but for awhile we were thinking it was Celiac Disease (can't digest gluten). Well we got the test done for that and while waiting for the results we started doing gluten free. After a couple days he would actually eat and gained 12 oz in a week and a half. Well the results came back and he didn’t have celiac disease. We were shocked, so we started feeding gluten again and he wouldn't eat. To make a long story short he has a gluten intolerance. It took about a week for him to figure out that food doesn't hurt his stomach but he's doing so much better and so much happier. AND EATS! This is the article that helped my husband and I figure it out OURSELVES- who needs specialists??

We just now are figuring all this out, but I thought I would share; I was desperate to talk to people who are experiencing the same thing. I just love it when someone says, "just feed him more" AHHHH!!! He's just adorable and love reading your blog.

21.5 lbs!!! That is AWESOME! Bennett is still 22.5 lbs at 26 months! Not walking is probably helping him gain weight. Bennett started walking around 16 months and we've had the HARDEST time getting any weight on him ever since. Although, the heavy whipping cream trick you told me about (our nutritionist has us putting in 3 oz per bottle now!) has helped some!

I bet ya once he gets the hang of it, he'll take off. B went from not even cruising at ALL (in therapy too) to full on walking within the span of 2 weeks! Out of the blue! Crazy!

You're doing so great with this pregnancy!!! Every day is such a blessing!

That is so sad, my baby was hospitalized in Nov for H1N1. It is so hard seeing them poking the baby over and over again. That had to get 3 IV lines in Jasmine and it was so painful she stopped breathing. I can't even think about it.

Kelly, I'm so sorry you guys are going through this! What a heart-wrenching experience it must be to see your baby in such pain and discomfort and also be scared to death of what he knows is going to happen (i.e. the poking). I know, though, that Trig is one of the strongest kiddos around and he is DEFINITELY a fighter. So, no matter what the final result (either he gets 100% better - which is what I am praying for - or he has to get tubes - not what I want for him or you guys), he will come out the same, fighting little boy as always. Love you and I'm praying for you guys.

Trig has a reason to not be walking at 1 - he was born early. Gabriel just couldn't be bothered. He started walking at 15 months! He crawled for 8 months and once he started walking, it was not very different than when he crawled because he was such a FAST mover. Can't wait to see the pictures from his party!
