Back from Pedi!

We went to the pediatrician today for a checkup - Trig weighs 9 lbs! YAY! I am so proud of his growth. The extra calories are WORKING! He's still not on the chart but we're GETTING THERE!

So pedi is not concerned about the dimple in Trig's spine. In fact, she said that she wouldn't have ordered an ultrasound - the bottom is easily visualized and his reflexes are really good. She said that the dimples are fairly common as well. So, she said to go ahead and have the ultrasound anyway but she doesn't anticipate any problems. YAY! I can't tell you how wonderful that was to hear. I was concerned. Still, we'll see what the ultrasound shows.

It's been really stormy here - luckily, it wasn't too bad this morning when I went to Trig's appointment. But, it seems to be rolling in again this afternoon. And if you know me you know how much I have this weird love/hate relationship with storms.

I have to take a second to brag about my new talent - I have now learned to pump AND drive at the same time. That's right, I hook myself up to the pump and drive around. And, I LOVE it. It gets two things done at once and it helps pass the pumping time which I love because I hate watching the clock when I'm pumping.

Speaking of which, it's time to feed the little man and do some of that pumping.

Back from day at Children's...

So we spent many hours at Children's yesterday - Trig had his voiding cystourethrogram (VCUG) and saw the urologist. VCUG was clear and urologist wants to monitor his hydronephrosis several times a year for awhile. He thinks that there may be something in there making his system "sluggish" but he thinks that there isn't an actual blockage that is surgical. WOOHOO!!! But, he noticed that Trig has a dimple on his spine and wants an ultrasound of that. Googling "sacral dimple" is really scary so I hope it's nothing. Doc thinks that there may be some kind of nerve issue making his kidney sluggish? Man, I hope not. So, we're going in for that ultrasound on June 4th at 11am. We'll see.

On top of it all, Baker was REALLY sick and went to urgent care. He has conjunctivitis, an ear infection, and a sinus infection. Poor guy, I hope he gets better soon. You KNOW he's sick when he has to miss school. Get better soon, Baker!

Makeover!

Yep, the blog got a makeover! Like it? It was time. Blue in the middle for Trig and pink on the outside for mommy cuz that's how she rolls :)

I'm at home alone tonight - Baker is on call. I'm much happier when I have his help in the evenings! He's not feeling well and I hope he has a good night. Thinking of you, Baker! Love you!

Day 6!

I am going to AW myself here- I am doing Jillian Michaels' 30 day shred and I am on day 6. I am not trying to lose weight, just get back in shape. After 4 months of bedrest and then not doing ANYTHING since he was born, it was time for me to get back in shape. So, the 30 day shred happens to be on my Exercise TV on Demand (FOR FREE!) so I am doing it. It is EMBARASSING how out of shape I am but I am getting there. It's a great workout and I'd recommend it to anyone - 20 minutes! So you new moms, we can all find 20 minutes - much more than that is not doable, trust me, I know, but I can find 20 minutes. Trig actually did really well with his afternoon nap today and I got to work out, take a shower (man did I need that), and I organized my dresser - when I moved back in, I just threw my clothes back in there. Nice to have things organized.

Okay, going on a walk with Baker and Trig! More later.

3 months old!!!

My little almost 8lb man is 3 months old today! I can't believe it! YAY TRIG!

In other news, I spoke with the pediatrician about the results of the renal ultrasound and she recommends a voiding cystourethrogram (VCUG) and a urology consult. So that will all happen on the 26th. I hope all goes well. If you have thoughts and prayers to spare, we could use them. I am really hoping that there isn't a blockage. Though, I have to admit, I'd be surprised, that boy has a FIRE HOSE. I was just thinking this morning, wow, he hasn't peed on me too many times (though his diapers are always really wet, so I wasn't worried). And, of course, I'd been complacent about covering his little wee-wee since he doesn't pee on me too much. Well, there it went and boy can that boy PEE!!!

So we'll see what they say on the 26th. Crossing fingers that it's totally nothing at all.

Back from Pedi!

Back from the pediatrician! Today's stats:

7lbs 12oz, 20 inches! YAY TRIG!

Doc is very happy with his growth, that's almost a pound in 2 weeks. She says to continue with the Neo.sure and all of that. No problem.

She also said that apparently, the docs in the NICU did NOT do a renal ultrasound - or if they did, there is no record of it. Can you believe that? UGH. So he needs to be worked up again. I have no problem with that because if he needs it done, he needs it done. Hopefully, that will all come out clear. He goes in for an ultrasound on Wednesday.

Soo, all is well! He rolled over in front of the doctor to show off. It was so funny! I love my Trig!
